As a profession, purchasing and supply is increasingly being seen as a strategic business discipline. It is highly recognized for the enormous contribution it makes to public and private sector organisations, in terms of value extracted for money spent and is pre-eminently well equipped to represent and serve the interests of all those involved in this rapidly developing field. CIPS qualifications are widely regarded as an international benchmark of excellence, enhancing standards of professionalism and performance throughout purchasing and supply. CIPS Foundation Diploma
Entry Requirements
The student must be at least 18 years of age and hold any of the following basic minimum qualifications:
- Two 'A' Levels or the equivalent as determined by CIPS
- 2 subject principal passes at Advanced level plus 3 KCEs.
- KCSE mean grade of C+
- A degree from a recognized university
- Any CIPS Level 3 Certificates
- Mature students who are 21 years of age and have at least two years' experience in a business environment
Course Structure
Five compulsory subjects:
- ENPS – Effective Negotiation in Purchasing and Supply
- PC – Purchasing Contexts
- DCPS – Developing Contracts in Purchasing and Supply
- MPP – Measuring Purchasing Performance
- MPSR – Managing Purchasing and Supply Relationships
CIPS Advanced Diploma
Entry Requirements
- CIPS Foundation Diploma
- CIPS (International) Advanced Certificate in Purchasing and Supply
Course Structure
Three compulsory subjects:
- MPF – Management in the Purchasing Function
- RMSCV – Risk Management and Supply Chain Vulnerability
- ISCP – Improving Supply Chain Performance
Plus two from the following options:
- MP – Marketing for Purchasers
- SD – Storage and Distribution
- OMSC – Operations Management in the Supply Chain
CIPS Graduate Diploma
