BSc (Hons) In Computing
The course is offered at Oshwal College in collaboration with the University of Greenwich – uk. Students can take the course as a three year program or final year (top-up) program.
1. FINAL YEAR (TOP-UP) PROGRAM
Entry requirements:
Qualifications for entry will be assessed on an individual basis for each applicant. The basic minimum qualifications are:
- IMIS Higher Diploma
- ACP Advanced Diploma
- NCC International Advanced Diploma in Computer Studies
- ABE Advanced Diploma in Business Information Systems.
- EDEXCEL HND Computing, HND Business Information Systems or other recognized HND computing programme
- BCS Diploma or Professional Graduate Diploma
- Diploma in Computing, IT or multimedia which are equivalent in standard to a UK Higher National Diploma will be accepted provided it gives the prerequisite knowledge and understanding required for the programme.
- Equivalent qualification: Students with relevant academic qualifications and work experience.
- KNEC Advanced Diploma in Computing.
- Any other program of equivalent academic standards, as formally recognized by the University of Greenwich AND Be aged at least 19 years at the start of the program.
Course structure
The course covers 9 modules:
Compulsory: Project in Computing where students are required to design, implement and demonstrate the software and to submit a project dissertation. It’s aimed at developing a student’s ability to plan, organize and work on a selected problem, drawing on and extending ideas encountered during the learning.
Options: Comprise of eight modules out of which 6 are to be selected.

Students must have successfully completed one of the following:
- Equivalent of two (2) A levels at grade C or above
- KCSE Mean Grade C+ and above with a minimum of grade C in Maths and English.
- Students who wish to transfer from universities in Kenya after they have successfully completed first year or above on similar program AND Be aged atleast 19 years at the start of the program

Examinations
Students are assessed by one examination and one coursework for each module. One examination is held at the end of an academic year, in May and December
Guidance notes
Timings:
The timings are designed to suit both Full-time and Part-time students. The class times are as follows:
Full-time Classes: 8.30 a.m. – 4.00 p.m. (Monday to Friday)
Part-time Classes: 5.45 p.m. – 7.45 p.m. & (Sat. 8.30 a.m-4.00 p.m.)
College Registration Requirements
Fully completed admission form, two passport-size photographs (new students) or one for continuing students and a photocopy of school certificate/ result slip is required. The registration, sending of entries for examinations, results or any other correspondence should be done through the College.
Semester Dates
The College operates on the basis of two semesters commencing in the first week of January and July respectively.

Note: The fee is all-inclusive and covers tuition, Registration with the University of Greenwich, Exams, student results and the final degree certificate.
New students pay an admission fee of Kshs. 1,000 per Semester
Caution Fee Kshs. 5,000 (Refundable)
TRANSPORT – Free of Charge
- The bus to Oshwal College departs from town at 5.15 pm
- The return trip to town from the college is at 8.00pm
HOW TO PAY
All payments must be made by cheque in favour of Oshwal College. Any cash payments should be deposited into the Oshwal College Account Number 0104422940804 at Standard Chartered, Kenyatta Avenue. The duplicate of the deposit slip should be submitted to the College cashier for receipt within a week of deposit.
