Founded by Royal Charter in 1836, University of London is one of the oldest and largest universities in the UK with a federation of 19 world renowned Colleges and 12 research Institutes offering over 100 courses through international programmes

Seven Nobel Prize winners have passed through University of London including Wole Soyinka and Nelson Mandela. All University of London students are assessed to the same standard whether they study in the UK or overseas. All paper-based exams taken in the country of study are marked by academics in the UK.

Graduates of the BSc Banking and Finance/Accounting and Finance degree who wish to continue their studies towards professional accreditation in the financial or accounting professions can take advantage of a ‘fast track’ agreement with two professional bodies: the ifs School of Finance (UK) and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).

Entry Requirements

• 2 subjects at GCE 'A' level, plus at least 3 further subjects at GCSE/GCE 'O' level at Grade C or above or 3 subjects at GCE 'A' level (with one 'A' level at not less than Grade D) or 3subjects at GCE 'A' level and one further subject at GCSE/GCE 'O' level at Grade C or above or 2 subjects at GCE 'A' level, plus two further subjects at GCE 'AS' level and Demonstrate competence in Mathematics at least equivalent to GCSE/GCE 'O' level at Grade C or above or
• IB Diploma with a grade 3 in Mathematics
• Higher Diploma from an acceptable polytechnic
• CPA (K) or CPS(K)
• KCSE C+ (EMFSS Access Route) and

Provide proof of competence in English which is acceptable to the University. A test of proficiency may be required and

• Be 18 years or older before 31 December in the year that you first register with the University
• Online access is also a requirement for registration

Programme structure

The degree involves studying 12 courses over a minimum of three years. Half of these are in accounting and finance, and half in related disciplines. You will have the opportunity to specialize in various fields within the subject area.

Bachelor of Science Accounting and Finance

Accounting and finance are central to the way in which management, shareholders and the society at large perceive, understand and seek to change and control the nature of organizations, as well as to an understanding of how the market allocates finances to firms. The program aims to provide a thorough grounding in accounting and finance, within a strong social science framework.

UK Application Procedure

• Submit online application form with application fee (non-refundable) before the application deadline on 31st August 2011
• Post copies of certificates verified by the British Council

Timings

The timings are designed for Full-time students. The class times are as follows:

Full-time Classes: 8.30 am – 1.00 pm (Monday to Friday)

College Registration Requirements

Fully completed admission form, two passport-size photographs for new students or one for continuing students and a photocopy of school certificate/ result slip is required. The registration, sending of entries for examinations, results or any other correspondence should be done through the College.

Intakes

The College operates on the basis of two semesters commencing in the first week of January and September respectively.
